Spring Fever Premieres “Just A Dream” Cover from Nelly with a Rock Twist
You’ve more than likely heard this song before in your lifetime. A classic catchy anthem and chorus from the rapper Nelly. In the 2000’s it was constantly on the radio and MTV- the single “Just A Dream”
Ohio’s Spring Fever has put its own unique spin on the song and brought it back to life with a rock n roll feel!
When I spoke with Matty Horner, founder, and leader of Spring Fever, here’s what he had to say leading to the song's re-creation.
“I had a handful of songs I wanted to cover, but they were either done before or didn’t translate well to hard rock/metal. I was flipping through XM one day and heard Just A Dream by Nelly and I had that song stuck in my head for days! So I started working on it in my studio and it came together seamlessly! I have my good friend and Impending Lies guitarist tighten up the guitar before heading off to work with Danny Cullman of Silver Creek Studios. In September I recorded vocals at Silver Creek Studios and the song was produced, mixed, and mastered by Danny Cullman.”
